Nightshift 62: Sun Room
[From here]
The Sun Room was pitch dark as Hakkai padded into the entrance, and unlike last night, totally silent. Somehow that was just as unnerving, though - even his own footsteps sounded far too loud, and far too unfamiliar in the darkness. Just his imagination running wild again - for the moment, anyhow. He waited until Gren joined him inside, and then whispered, "Around the edge again, I think. Safer." They'd have a wall on one side, at least.

It was strange, the way the darkness could pull up all those old childhood fears of something unknown, lurking somewhere, waiting. He tightened the grip he had on his shovel. "I don't want to spend any more time here than we have to.

Despite his paranoia, they skirted the edges of the room without any other sounds, or attacks, and made it to the door into the cafeteria.

And there were the guys who had left the door open. One of them was...Niikura squinted in the darkness. It was hard to tell, but it looked like one of them was that dude who had sprouted leaves all over his face the night before. Never had learned his name...or had he just forgotten? Eh, it wasn't important at the moment.
"Guess we should tail 'em," he said as quietly as he could. It couldn't be too bad to just march through the middle, especially since he wasn't hearing anything susupicious but that sounded like they'd be tempting fate a little too much.

And with all the insanity going on those two might be nasties themselves. Badd had learned his lessons well--trusting your own eyes was a fool's game around here. Landel could warp your senses with the greatest of ease.

She crept along with the others, trying to ignore the ache in her shoulders. If they did wind up facing some monsters or whatever, she was going to end up with pulled muscles. She needed to just relax....
She really wanted to hold Shou's hand. She wanted to badly.

Four was better than three. This Badd guy seemed like he'd be good in a fight. Shiina was a civilian, but she had three fighters watching over her. She had a brain in her head. Kinda a bit like April, now that he thought about it...
Mike missed her, but it wasn't time to focus on that. He kept on moving, not otherwise speaking for the moment.
((OOC: Gonna be busy for a few days with work and crazy remodeling at home. Feel free to skip me until we get down to the basement and are deciding which way to go. |D))

He waited for the other group to go through the door to the cafeteria before following them in.

The Sun Room was silent as they entered. Soma couldn't sense anything, but she'd long realized that that sort of thing didn't mean much in a place like the institute. She kept her flashlight moving as they entered. Hopefully this place wasn't guarded tonight.
