S.T was navigating by a fingertip on the wall and the slight breeze of a functioning HVAC system. The halls were dark again. Completely empty, too. He was out early. And he was still thinking.

Something so fallible, he'd said. So that talk about a device had been true? Freaky. Maybe he really wasn't human. Replaced by a machine, and pouting about it. Long live the industrial revolution. He was glad he'd taken the radio. If they were going to be treated to another very special episode, he wanted to hear it.

Daemon stepped out into the wide hall , waiting for Renji to catch up with him as he regained his bearings with where they were and where they needed to go.

"So. You were teaching?"

Renji only made a sound of agreement to the storage room being upstairs. He was pretty sure that was where it was. He hadn't personally gone there often. He followed along behind Daemon, his Shinigami robes making him a hole in the darkness.

"Yeah. Couple of women wanted to get started with basic fighting. Against monster shaped monsters, not human shaped ones. Thank the fucking kami. They're raw and green so I got 'em started with the most basic stuff. Including trying to grind it into them that the best idea is to always, always run."

A chuckled tickled at the back of Daemon's throat. "I was never particularly good at learning that lesson," he mused, thumb stroking along his jaw. Moving to the end of the corridor, he found himself in familiar territory once more and stepped out into the wide hall that ran the length of the institute.
